Weekly Photo Challenge: Warmth

This week’s challenge is a photo of warmth.

sea_lions

The sea lions on Pier 39 in San Francisco warm themselves under sun while napping all snuggled together.  Although they do smell (more than a bit), I could delight in watching them for hours.

FIVE FAVORITE THINGS: AUGUST

Here’s a list of what I’m enjoying this month…

  1. Making Banana Bread
  2. Saying Sayonara to Summer: by attending outdoor concerts at Quantico Marine Museum and the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden, catching a baseball game and visiting a Virginia winery
  3. Visiting San Francisco
  4. Learning Eka Pada Koundinyasana B

  5. Bliss Massages and Brunch

Let me know what you’re enjoying this month, and thanks so much for stopping by!

IF YOU’RE GOING TO SAN FRANCISCO…

In a recent whirlwind weekend getaway to San Francisco, my feet ached after walking over 25 miles racing to see all the sights.

While there, I took two tours one to see the California Redwoods in Muir Woods and the beautiful town of Sausalito and the second was an urban hike in San Francisco.  I mocked the word hike, but it really wasn’t a joke as we climbed and descended hill after hill and discovered secret stairs between buildings leading to secret gardens and picturesque views.

SHE SEES SURFERS BY THE SEASHORE

Taken during my first trip to California.  I only stayed for one night, and I woke up ridiculously early and walked the pier and shore of Huntington Beach, with the surfers and seagulls for company.  I stayed at the lovely boutique hotel the Shorebreak.
